How a magazine cover is made

August 8, 2009

This video by Peter Belanger is perfect. The music is by The Brokenmusicbox.

I’m amazed at the time, money, and creative energy still being invested for magazine covers. I have a paperless Macworld Zinio subscription. Every time I read a new issue, everything is outdated as I have RSS feeds for all things Mac.

I still enjoy the vivid colors, sharp text, design layout, and form factor of high resolution print magazines, but newsstands just feel quaint and obsolete to me. They still have their place, I suppose, and that’s why catchy, glossy covers still matter.

Be sure to read the accompanying Macworld article and Peter Belanger blog post.
